Archbishop Mihayo University College of Tabora (AMUCTA) is a constituent college of St Augustine University of Tanzania, and as such it is governed by the Board of Trustees of
Catholic Universities of Tanzania and the University Council under the Catholic Bishops of Tanzania (Tanzania Episcopal Conference – TEC). AMUCTA is seeking to employ competent, experienced, honest, hardworking, qualified and committed individuals to fill the position of ICT Officer and Librarian.

Job Title: Librarian 

Job Summary
A university college library seeks a dedicated and experienced Librarian to join its staff. We serve a large portion of the students, including students who use the facility for research.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Library management and planning
  • Assist students with finding reference materials and leisure reading materials when asked
  • Maintain library inventory and conduct periodic audits of the information on file
  • Check books and other materials in and out of the library
  • Assist students how to use the electronic database and its functions
  • Cataloguing and classifying library materials
  • Manage the acquisitions of new materials
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Library or a Related Field,  Decision Making, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Written and Verbal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Attention to Detail, Ability to Work Under Pressure, Ability to Meet Goals.

Job Title: ICT Officer

Job Purpose
Supports information technology (IT) systems and users, installs computer systems and software, and maintains computer networks and connectivity.

 Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users
  • Offers troubleshooting, support, and repair when IT equipment or networks malfunction
  • Asks directed questions regarding equipment and networks to assess IT issues
  • Provide effective and well-tested support
  • Demonstrates great customer service skills, listens carefully, and exercises patience
  • Documents daily tasks, training, and support sessions to inform the department and organisation better regarding IT support needs
  • Maintains records of hardware and software inventory
  • Assists with maintaining information security through controlled hardware or software installation and staff education
  • Works with a team of installation, network, security, and support specialists
  • Follows emergency plans for equipment, power, or security failures when necessary and protects data and security
  • Advances knowledge of current technology and support solutions by attending workshops and continuing education courses
  • Stays updated regarding new technology
  • An ability to set goals and accomplish them on time.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Swahili and English.

Qualifications and Skills
