Background:
Aga Khan Health Services Tanzania (AKHST) – an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a non-profit international organization that supports social development programs in Tanzania completed a major expansion to position the institution to become a leading and integrated tertiary and teaching health care system in Tanzania. As part of its health systems strengthening initiatives in working with and supporting Government Health Programmes.
AKHST and (AFD) are partnering on a new innovative comprehensive cancer project aiming at strengthening cancer care in Tanzania through PPP with Tanzanian-based CCP partners: (Ministry of Health. Community Development. Gender Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), Ocean Road Cancer Research Institute (ORCI). Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) and Muhimbili National Hospital with technical support from Institute Curie in delivering a full range of cancer services. The Tanzania Comprehensive Cancer Project (TCCP). proposed high-quality, evidence-based comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing the burden of cancer morbidity and mortality in two target regions (Dar es Salaam and Mwanza).
The project’s 4 major components include a) Improve and expand existing oncology infrastructure to provide more comprehensive oncology care through health systems strengthening, b) build the capacity of staff in participating institutions to provide high quality cancer care by trained specialists, and tram and retain local professionals through accredited programs: c) strengthen community cancer care practices by delivering affordable, comprehensive health care services for preventive services including primary prevention, screening, and early detection and d) develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and participating institutions on joint research agenda and initiatives.
Job TITLE: Clinical Coordinator – (1 POSITION)
POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Coordinator will responsible for facilitating and coordinating a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver quality of care, ensure quality programmes and standards are in place, ensure effective utilization of resources in line with institutional goals and objectives, lead the team in quality improvement initiatives to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care, facilitating staff training and development programmes in relation to project strategic needs, lead in performance management initiatives through staff feedback sessions and training and development programmes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Public Health will be an added advantage
- At least 6 years’ experience with minimum 3 years’ experience in management
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP will be added advantage with respect to clinical specialty
- Ability to teach, supervise & mentor the staff and evaluate staff performance.
- Possesses sound knowledge and skills of problem-solving/decision making and crisis management.
- Ability to counsel the staff.
- Familiarity with the concepts of Quality improvement activities of institution.
- Able to use a computer and the Microsoft office packages proficiently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English

POSITION SUMMARY
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for developing M&E systems, capacity building of project staff, interns, volunteers and stakeholders in project monitoring and consolidation, documentation and reporting relating to the project. The incumbent will be responsible for Dissemination of monitoring and evaluation data & reports internally and externally, oversee implementation of M&E systems & tools, development of appropriate M&E systems, indicators and tools and financial planning & management.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in relevant field of study (e.g. Social Sciences, Development Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology or Statistics).
- Two years working experience in relevant field
- A clear understanding of contemporary development issues and trends in M&E
- Excellent IT. including relevant M&E packages (Epilnfo, SPSS, Stata etc).
- Excellent data consolidation and reporting skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A high level of motivation and ability to work independently as well as part of a team desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing data, finances and/or administrative systems.

JOB TITLE: Finance Officer – (1 POSITION)
The incumbent will be responsible for establishing payment systems and processes to enable timely and accurate delivery of monthly account management and budget information. He or she will be involved in annual budget activities, complete retirements, accountable for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting, provide ongoing support and direction for budget holders of the project, investigate and report variances, develop robust financial program management processes, cost modeling and estimation of capital and operational cost for project deliverables and work packages.

- University degree in accounts, finance or relevant fields.
- CPA certificate will be an added advantage

POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent will responsible for the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties, administration and employee records management. Assist in the coordination and implementation of initiatives, programs, policies and procedures related to human resource management of employees, and ensure workplace practices are compliant with institution and employment standard policies and guidelines. Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulatory, government, medical professional bodies and associations. Assist in design and conduct training for management and nonmanagement staff and maintain all training records, coordinate the staff performance appraisal and review and update policies, procedures and processes standard requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management.
- 3-4 years of work experience in the HR field.
- Knowledge of HR management principles, practices and methods in employee relations and recruitment.

POSITION SUMMARY
An experience and professional manager preferably an Oncologist with 10 years of experience is required to be accountable for providing strategic, programmatic and operational leadership and direction for the TCCP, leading day-to-day operations, including directing, organizing, planning, and resource management. Specific areas of responsibility include staff supervision, collaborating with the partners, performance improvement. The Project Manager has a leadership role in building relationships, coordinating patient care and creating and sustaining a positive context for the cancer project. This individual is also responsible for effectively interacting with other stakeholders of the joint venture partnership in Tanzania.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Oncology/board certified or fellow of their respective colleges in related field.
- Super specialty training of fellowship will be an added advantage
- MD/ MBBS ( Bachelor of Medicine and/or Bachelor of Surgery )
- Certificate of Full Registration from Medical Council of Tanganyika
- Valid Retention Certificate from Medical Council of Tanganyika
- Demonstrated record of excellent clinical skills, a talent for teaching and interest in medical education
- Demonstrated record of high quality medical research and collaborative research teams
- Strategic and innovative thinking skills and the ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and to work flexibly with multiple reporting relationships.
