Our client is looking for a highly organized and result oriented Assistant Hatchery Manager to be responsible for all activities in the assigned Hatchery’s Department and for achieving set targets as per SOPs. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in a fast paced environment and have the ability to progress quickly in their field.
Responsibilities:
Process Management
- Constantly and consistently measures and analyses hatching process to identify issues and continuous improvements
- Assists the Hatchery Manager in setting and executing the Hatchery annual budget based on agreed company strategy
- Ensures all processes in the assigned department are performed as per SOPs and set standards • Ensures that all department machinery and equipment are monitored and maintained as per manufacturer’s specifications for optimal performance by ensuring maintenance schedule adherence
- Monitors all consumables in the assigned department (cleaning supplies, chemicals, etc.) and investigates variances
- Monitors all product input costs in the assigned department and investigates variances
- Responsible for overall management of the assigned team
- Coordinates and plans for manpower requirements according to set targets • Responsible for motivating & enforcing team compliance with all relevant company SOPs & policies, statutory regulations and expected company behaviors at all times
- Ensures that all HR related issues including attendance, leave, overtime & disciplinary issues are handled in consultation with the Hatchery Manager
Minimum Qualifications and Skill:
- BSc Animal Science/ Animal Health/ Production/Engineering or related
- Minimum 3 years’ in a production setting with people management experience • Must be willing to reside in Kerege,Bagamoyo
- Process oriented
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong IT skills (Computer literacy)
