Project information
The purpose of this Project is to provide support to Mwitikio wa Kuthibiti Kifua Kikuu na Ukimwi Tanzania (MKUTA as “Sub awardee” to participate in the implementation of Tuberculosis and Family planning Integrated Community Solutions (USAID Afya Shirikishi) Project implemented by Amref Health Africa in Tanzania (“Amref”-The Prime Recipient) funded by U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) in Dar es Salaam and Pwani Region.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Regional Program Officer will be responsible for the following key tasks:
• Work closely with RTLC/DTLCs in Pwani region and providing substantive and timely input in the implementation of the Regional Tuberculosis and TB/HIV programs, including reporting on progress vis-à-vis planned activities and expected outputs.
• Will be responsible for the direct management of regional community TB project including; planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of project implementation, budget management, CSOs and CBOs management
• Support identified CBOs that are basically implementing TB interventions for capacity building in implementing MDR-TB and TB/HIV collaborative activities.
• Help the CSO/CBOs in planning and implementing community interventions
• Conduct supervision and mentorship visits to CBOs as per need arise in order to improve their capacity in delivering community TB response.
• Support capacity building trainings in implementing MDR-TB and TB/HIV collaborative activities.
• Coordinate implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities as per approved work-plan and budget and ensure that Amref Health Africa in Tanzania attains and exceeds assigned targets
• Maintain close liaison with regional authorities to ensuring optimum participation and promoting ownership in the implementation of the USAID Afya Shirikishi Activity
• Compiled reports before submission to MKUTA Headquarters and summaries lessons learnt during implementation.
• Coordinate the timely preparation of the quarterly and regional work plans and activity schedules
• Ensure timely collection and provision of requested information for the quarterly progress reports
• Liaise with Amref Health Africa in Tanzania regional team and prepare accelerated work plans where appropriate;
• Prepare monthly and weekly route plan for the project to reach targeted population.
• Prepare document experiences, briefs, and success stories
• Monitor Community Health care workers performance and implement plans as per project targets
• Provide weekly update and monthly report to Project Coordinator.
• Work closely with the M&E Manager to evaluate data and program progress.

Required Qualifications: (Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience)
• Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor Degree in Medicine, Community Development, Education, Sociology, Project Management, M&E, Public Health and other related fields.
• Experience: 5 – 10 years
Experience
• Extensive experience in supervision, monitoring and evaluation of donor funded health related programs
• Experience in preparation and analysis of work plans, reports (programmatic and financial)
• Extensive knowledge of the local health systems from the national to the local levels.
• Demonstrated ability in managing teams to achieve health results
• Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts in other agencies and organizations at regional level.
• Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural/behavioral groups
• Proven leadership skills, as well as skills in facilitation, team building and coordination
• Ability to represent MKUTA programs in District or Regional level stakeholders’ meetings.
• Adequate capacity and experience in compiling reports/ report writing.
