TOL Gases Limited Is the leading manufacturer and distributor of Industrial and Medical Gases in Tanzania, which has been in existence since 1950. It is also dealing with distribution of welding products as ESAB’S authorized distributor as well as medical gas equipment. The Company is owned by Tanzanian and has been listed in the Dar es salaam Stock Exchange since 1998.

POSITION: QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER-DAR ES SALAAM

Overall purpose of the position:

Ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required for distribution and the market. Preventing errors in manufacturing or production that lead to product defects. Testing products extensively before their release.

Main Responsibilities:

• Draft Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
• Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures.
• Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality.
• Checking that raw materials or components involved in the production process are of suitable quality.
• Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
• Estimating time involved in assuring each product’s quality.
• Investigating causes of defects that occur during the testing phase.
• Communicating with other departments such as project management and engineering to coordinate scheduling for Quality Assurance testing.
• Conforming to regulations and international standards when it comes to testing and quality assurance.
• Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirement.

Qualification and competencies;

Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Processing Engineering, Certificate of Quality Auditor/Quality Engineer/Quality Improvement Associate is an added advantage.
Working Experience: 1 year working experience in a manufacturing environment.
Language and Computer Skills:Fluent in both and written and spoken English and Swahili. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases.
