Overview:
Kinondoni is located in the north west of Dar es Salaam’s central business district, Tanzania,
Others being Municipalities being Temeke and Ilala which has been recently promoted City Status.
To the east is the Indian Ocean, to the north and west the Pwani Region of Tanzania. The area of Kinondoni is 537 km².

Kinondoni Municipal is a Municipality within the city of Dar es salaam.The Government notice no 4of the year 2000 issued by President's office, Regional Administration and Local Government established the Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) as an autonomous body. The more was part of the on-going Local Government Reforms in the Country.
