Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Management Assistant (Budget and Commercial Assistant) in the Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) Section.

Duties
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Officer (SCO), the incumbents assists U.S. companies that are seeking to enter the market, manages the office budget and purchasing, completes administrative tasks for the office, and manages contact databases. Responsibilities are divided into three main areas: Commercial Assistance – planning, organizing, and administering programs to facilitate the export of U.S. goods and services by counselling businesses, conducting market research and trade promotion in a limited number of industry sectors. Budget Management – working with the SCO to develop a budget for the fiscal year, manage spending and income, and making purchases for the office. Administrative Management –managing the office’s databases, monitors and distributes or acts on incoming office messages, acts as the property custodian, ensures the office is stocked with appropriate supplies, and works with the IT department to ensure office technology is working properly.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
- Experience: At least three years prior work experience in accounting, sales, marketing, international trade, or market/economic Research/development is required.
Education Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or host country equivalent in accounting, economics, marketing, business administration/management, or international trade is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree

- International trade is required.
Evaluations:
Language: Level IV Fluency (reading, speaking, and writing) in English is required and Level IV Fluency working knowledge (reading, speaking, and writing) in Kiswahili is required. This may be tested.

COVID-19 Requirements for Eligible Family Members
As required by Executive Order 14043, Eligible Family Members who will be employed on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Temporary Appointment (TEMP) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law. Eligible Family Members who will be employed on a Personal Services Agreement and compensated under the USG pay plan will be required to attest to their vaccination status using the Vaccine Attestation Form. Candidates who will be employed on either a Personal Services Agreement or a direct hire appointment and compensated under the Mission’s Local Compensation Plan will be required to follow all Mission COVID-19 policies applicable to Locally Employed Staff.
