Role Purpose
Support the value creation of Bayer Tanzania business, ensuring reliability and predictability of key financials. Responsible for all finance and risk management topics within the country and provides to Bayer East Africa management advice and relevant analysis, evaluations and recommendations to steer the business.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Manage and oversee the in-country daily accounting operations including fixed asset activity
- Revenue recognition and expenditure variance analysis
- Special items follow ups in collaboration with Head of Accounting East Africa
- Local external audit coordination
- Ensure timely tax submissions and compliance to local tax law
- Provides analytics, standard reporting and presentations for GFI Head East Africa concerning legal entity financials
- Ensure compliant and timely delivery to global systems (e.g.data.one, SAP, CoFiPot) in collaboration with Head of Accounting and LEFiM East Africa
- Ensure data integrity and error corrections
- Ensure timely and complete external reporting to authorities
- Manage cash flow throughout the organization
- Monitor account payable/account receivable in collaboration with Head of Accounting East Africa
- Identify, analyze and provide to Bayer East Africa management all reliable financial & economic data valuable to steer the business in a timely manner
- Reduce forecasting complexity, reduce inventory, and increase fixed asset efficiency
- Perform short term planning, forecasting and recording/ documenting of Legal Entity Financials in collaboration with LEFiM East Africa
- Prepare local LE income statement and consolidation for tax forecast and Transfer Pricing in collaboration with Head of Tax East Africa and LEFiM East Africa
- Prepare local LE cash flow for Liquidity planning and impairment testing
- Prepare necessary financials for exposure planning
- Review and monitor internal controls to continuously mitigate emerging risks
- Drive compliance culture across the Legal Entity
- Provide overall leadership as part of the country leadership team
- Manage site administration activities in collaboration with Head of Site & Mobility services East Africa
Experiences, skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management
- CPA/ ACCA qualifications
- Over 8 years experience in a busy accounting environment.
- Tax and Treasury knowledge (Local and Global view)
- Experience in shared service organization interactions
