Pact Tanzania is an international non-profit that works in nearly 40 countries building solutions for human development that are evidence-based, data-driven, and owned by the communities we serve.
Our vision is thriving, resilient and engaged communities leading their own development.
Founded in 1971, Pact works with partners to build resilience, improve accountability, and strengthen knowledge and skills for sustainable social impact.
Pact’s many years in Tanzania have played a crucial role in reducing HIV and AIDS across the country.
With funding from USAID, Pact implemented the Pamoja Tuwalee project and then the Kizazi Kipya project (2016-2021).
Both efforts contributed to markedly improved HIV testing, treatment and prevention among Tanzanian orphans and vulnerable children and their caregivers.
In sum, Kizazi Kipya helped improve the lives of more than 1 million Tanzanian children using a case-management approach to connect OVC and their caregivers with vital services to improve their health and socioeconomic wellbeing.
Pact also has carried out substantial work to improve governance in Tanzania, empowering citizens and civil society organizations to work with political representatives toward transparency and accountability at the local and national levels.
