BBC Media Action Tanzania is the BBC’s international development organisation, working in more than 20 countries and reaching more than 100 million people a year.
We support independent media and share trusted information that protects health, bridges divides, challenges prejudice, and saves and changes lives. We follow the editorial standards and values of the BBC, but we rely on donor funding to carry out our work. In Tanzania, our team of vibrant and diverse staff work in close partnership with local and national media, and a wide array of development and civil society organisations, to support good governance, improve inclusion of marginalised groups, and promote healthy behaviours.
Our weekly radio show, Haba na Haba (‘Slowly but Surely’), is the country’s most widely broadcast radio programme – airing on 40 partner radio stations. Attracting 5.3 million listeners, the show aims to engage citizens in a national conversation about how the country is run – with a big focus on audience participation. We’ve also trained our partner stations to produce their own ‘good governance.
The organization is an equal opportunity employer.
