IPA Tanzania established an office in Dar es Salaam in 2017. We have steadily increased our impact and influence across sectors to drive research that improves evidence-informed policy and decision-making.
In collaboration with key partners from government, civil society, and private sector, IPA Tanzania has successfully implemented projects in women’s economic empowerment, intimate partner violence, education, financial inclusion, and health.
IPA’s Theory of Action underpins how IPA and our partners make an impact through evidence and data use.
Drawing on our experiences and that of our partners—it outlines the conditions necessary for evidence to influence policy, and the work IPA does to create those conditions.
We cannot measure our own impact with a randomized evaluation, as much as we would like to be able to. Ironic, we know. What we can do is track changes in programs, policies, and debates that we are confident we have contributed to.
We say “contribute” because we never do this alone—our partners, researchers, and many others are also crucial to any impact we achieve. The organization is an equal opportunity employer.
