POSITION: Fiscal Policy Advisor
The Good Financial Governance (GFG) project in Tanzania, funded by Germany, Switzerland, and the EU, supports the government in implementing public finance reforms. The project focuses on four key areas: enhancing administrative capacity for revenue collection, strengthening budget control, improving fiscal policy and transparency, and supporting public finance reform in Zanzibar.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiscal Policy Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will support the Ministry of Finance (MoF) under the GFG project’s Revenue Mobilization component. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, providing technical advice, and coordinating activities in the area of fiscal policy and transparency.
Duty station: Dar es Salaam Fixed term contract
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Ensure implementation of activities in line with operational plans agreed with Ministry of Finance (MoF)
- Provide technical advice on tax policy and fiscal reforms aligned with international standards.
- Prepare terms of reference for short-term assignments and ensure that the partners’ needs are reflected in them
- Accompany and supervise short-term expert assignments to ensure the quality and embedment of results in partner system
- Contribute to M&E, communication and reporting of project results.
Qualification
- Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
Professional experience
- Extensive experience in fiscal policy, tax policy, or public finance management.
- Proven track record of supporting fiscal reforms and providing strategic advice.
- Strong understanding of international fiscal standards and practices.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies and international partners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
