EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY  

Introduction  

Iringa Hope, an International Non-Governmental Organization, operates programs in the  Northern highlands of Tanzania, specifically in the regions of Iringa and Njombe, with its  headquarters in Iringa. Using a unique approach, Iringa Hope provides agricultural financing,  marketing, and training to smallholder farmers in Tanzania. Our goal is to alleviate poverty and  empower agricultural entrepreneurs. To further our mission, Iringa Hope is seeking applications  from qualified individuals for different positions based in Iringa. PositionField Officer – Market Development  

Location: Iringa

Reporting to: Agribusiness Manager Mode  

of Transport: Motorcycle (provided)

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and expand market reach for fertilizers, sprays, seeds, and other agricultural products  • Build strong relationships with farmers and agribusiness clients
  • Educate farmers on the benefits, proper use, and application of products
  • Identify local market needs, preferences, and trends for crops and agricultural inputs • Keep detailed records of sales activities, client feedback, and market insights

Qualifications:  

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field
  • Experience: Strong sales skills, communication, and knowledge on agri-inputs and crops  business practiced at least 2 years.
  • Other Requirements: Valid motorcycle license and willingness to travel extensively to remote  areas



PositionLoan Officer (2 positions)

Location: Iringa

Reporting to: Microfinance Manager Mode  

of Transport: Motorcycle (provided)

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct outreach and build relationships with community members
  • Evaluate loan applications, verifying applicants’ needs and eligibility
  • Educate clients about loan terms, repayment schedules, and financial best practices  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to monitor progress and ensure loan repayments • Maintain accurate records and reports

Qualifications:  

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Skills and experience: At least 2 years of experience with strong communication, basic  financial knowledge, and a customer-focused attitude
  • Other Requirements: Valid motorcycle license and comfort with traveling to remote areas  Field Officer (Agribusiness – Market Development 2 positions

PositionAccountant  

Location: Iringa

Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budgeting  • Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and analysis for management  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
  • Assist in the preparation of audits and donor reports
  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions in NGO, agribusiness, and microfinance  operations

Qualifications:  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in accounting, preferably in NGO, agribusiness, or  microfinance sectors
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and  excellent organizational skills



Job titleAgribusiness Manager  

Reporting to: General Manager

Location: Iringa

Responsibilities

  • Foster positive and enduring business relationships with input supply companies and farmers to  support continuous farm production and enhance produce.
  • Manage the Delayed Sales and Storage (DSS) program to inculcate positive post-harvest  attitude to farmers.
  • Supervise the Trading Desk (TD) portfolio including innovation of professional commissioned  sales force to drive business growth.
  • Identify reliable markets for farmers farm produce, establishing and maintaining market  linkages.
  • Assess and make better use of market potential for input supplies, storage, and sales of farmers’  crops.
  • Actively lead the team to provide technical backstopping to farmers for them to fortify and  diversify the farming practices.
  • Manage and maintain input supply detailed records from farmers
  • Enhance the tailor-made input supply voucher system and coordinate timely input delivery.
  • Monitor and track improvements in farmers’ crop yields based on inputs and best farming  practices.
  • Innovate and promote new products for farmers
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan covering inputs and farm produce sales.
  • Manage storage facilities and services including fumigation to minimize crop losses due to  insect damage profitably.
  • Prepare annual budget and work plan for the company.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Marketing  or a related field.

Experience:  

  • Proven track record in agricultural business management and development of not less than 5  years.
  • Extensive experience in fostering positive relationships with input supply companies and  farmers.
  • Demonstrated success in managing post-harvest programs, such as the Delayed Sales and  Storage (DSS) initiative.
  • Experience in supervising teams and managing portfolios, with a focus on innovation and  growth.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market potential for input supplies, storage, and crop sales.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail for managing input supply records  and other relevant data.

Technical Knowledge:  

  • Familiarity with agricultural best practices and innovations.
  • Understanding of crop yields improvement through inputs and best farming practices.
  • Innovation and Product Development:
  • Proven ability to innovate and introduce new products or services in the agricultural sector.
  • Experience in working with subsidy program in agricultural inputs
  • Business Planning and Budgeting
