Title: Project Coordinator Assistant
Direct Reports: Project Coordinator
Location: Liwale, Lindi
Main Purpose:
Provide support to the Project Coordinator in the administrative part of coordination tasks, ensuring smooth relations with local and national authorities, contributing to context analysis and follow-up, providing translations and interpreting to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Accountabilities:
- Context and Contact Follow-Up:
- Gather contextual information through knowledge of counterparts in different administrations to improve decision-making processes.
- File and update field contacts and correspondence (with NGOs, local authorities, media, communities, etc.) to ensure information accuracy and availability.
- Communication and Relationships:
- Assist the Project Coordinator in drafting correspondences with authorities and counterparts (government officials, NGOs, etc.) to ensure fluent communication.
- Assist in internal and external communication sessions and events about MSF to improve awareness and public opinion adhesion.
- Ensure continuity of relations with local actors and keep the contact list updated.
- Organize advocacy contacts and appointments for the Project Coordinator with local authorities and partners.
- Delegated Tasks and Translation:
- Execute clerk-related activities and conduct briefings on the project context for new employees to facilitate their integration.
- Translate documents and act as an interpreter when needed.
- Support internal coordination and smooth communication (meetings organization, information collection, and spreading).
MSF in Tanzania:
MSF has been working intermittently in Tanzania since 1993, supporting the Ministry of Health (MOH) in areas such as primary and secondary healthcare and epidemic responses (cholera, malaria, HIV/AIDS). The latest intervention began in May 2015 with an emergency response to a cholera outbreak in Kigoma region. The Liwale project, launched in December 2022, supports MOH in community-based, primary, and secondary healthcare for mothers and children under 5. MSF supports 7 health facilities, including 4 secondary healthcare facilities and 3 primary healthcare facilities, with activities such as recruitment of healthcare workers, medical supply, team empowerment, referrals, Watsan activities, and rehabilitations.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Desirable university degree in Administration and/or Management.
Experience:
- Desirable: At least 2 years of experience in similar jobs in humanitarian aid or with NGOs.
Knowledge:
- Essential: Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, and internet).

- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
