Vacancy Announcement: 8,000 Vocational Training Opportunities in Various Fields

  1. The Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities is implementing a National Skills Development Program aimed at equipping the nation’s workforce with appropriate skills and competencies to compete in the labor market. The Ministry has partnered with 52 registered vocational training centers authorized to provide training in various fields. These include fashion design and tailoring, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, welding, painting and signwriting, cooking, machinery part manufacturing, automotive and mechanical engineering, industrial and domestic electrical work, vehicle electrical systems, hotel and tourism services, and metalworking.
  2. We are pleased to announce that Tanzanian youth, aged 15 to 35, who are interested in joining vocational training in the listed fields are invited to apply for training at VETA regional and district centers, as well as the specified training institutions. The government will fully cover the tuition fees, while the student, parent, or guardian will be responsible for other expenses, including transport to and from the training institution. Training will commence on March 3, 2025, and will be held on a daily basis. Applicants are advised to apply to institutions in their respective regions.
  3. The approved training centers and their respective fields are attached.
  4. Applications must be submitted from January 30, 2025, to February 12, 2025, accompanied by the following documents:
    i. Application letter for the training program
    ii. A copy of the birth certificate
    iii. A copy of the highest educational certificate
    iv. A national identity card or voter ID (for those 18 years and older)
    v. A letter of introduction from the local government office (ward/village) of the applicant’s residence
    vi. Four passport-sized photos (with the applicant’s full name written on the back)
  5. Eligibility criteria for training include:
    i. Primary education or higher for fields such as fashion design and tailoring, plumbing, construction, carpentry, welding, painting, and signwriting
    ii. Secondary education (Form Four and beyond) for other fields, including mechanical part manufacturing, automotive mechanics, industrial and domestic electrical systems, vehicle electrical systems, and solar electrical systems
    iii. Must be a Tanzanian citizen
    iv. Age between 15 and 35 years
    v. Must be in good health
  6. Youth with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply, and they will be given priority in the training opportunities.
  7. Applications should be submitted directly to the approved training institutions in your region.
  8. Only applicants who meet the criteria and qualifications will be considered for selection.
