II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator in Dar es Salaam and the direct supervision of the Emergency Operations Officer in Kibondo, with administrative coordination with the Head of Sub‐office in Kigoma, and in close partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of transport operations for the voluntary repatriation of Burundian refugees from refugee camps in Kigoma region to their country of origin.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Ensuring the list of daily OPS and medical personnel for all IOM transport support operations, as identified from the rotating daily staff roster, is prepared;
  2. Coordinating operational manifesting and luggage tagging activities in the camps for all IOM transport support activities
  3. Monitor the inventory of medical supplies and medications paying special attention to expiration dates, and coordinate for overall timeliness of the medical supply Plan and coordinate all pre‐embarkation medical screenings for all IOM transport support activities;
  4. Monitoring of IOM health personnel in relation to IOM refugee transport operations;
  5. Providing daily internal updates to the Emergency Operations Officer on both intercamp and cross‐border movement; this also includes updating partners at field level on the same;
  6. Under the guidance of the Emergency Operations Officer, lead the convoys for both intercamp and cross‐border movements, ensuring proper application of the transport SOPs; reporting on any medical complication during the journeys;
  7. Submits medical screening reports and participate in the operationalization of inter‐ agency referral system and networks with regard to medical cases needing further intervention;
  8. Assist the Emergency Operations Officer with general refugee transport coordination;
  9. Accompany the Emergency Operations Officer to multi‐partner coordination meetings; minuting discussion and following‐up on action points pertinent to IOM;
  10. Maintain networks and relationships with local health authorities, physicians,
    hospital, and laboratories;
  11. Any other duties that may be assigned.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 University degree in Refugee and/or Migration Studies, General Medicine, Psychology, Pharmacy, or similar fields;
 At least three years of relevant professional experience in emergency assistance and/or assisting in emergency movement operations and/or working in an emergency setting;
 Basic and Advanced First Aid Certification or equivalent required for holders of non-medical degrees;
 Experience working with relevant Government and Non-Governmental
counterparts, international organizations, civil society or private sector entities;
 Experience in monitoring of projects activities, particularly relating to refugee
protection and health, and liaison with the Tanzanian Government;
 Prior experience in liaising with the Tanzanian Ministry of Home Affairs is
considered advantageous
VI. LANGUAGES
 Thorough knowledge of English and Kiswahili is required
 Working knowledge of Kirundi and/or French is advantageous
