STAMIGOLD Company Limited – Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. Position: Security Officers (02) Posts

Work Station:          Biharamulo Mine Site
Contract Duration:  One year, subject to renewal 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Makes or conducts patrol and/or guard of access points;
• Detects and prevents unauthorized persons, vehicles or animals from entering premises and/or protected areas;
• Reports pertinent matters that may affect the security of the site;
• Protects of Company’s property against theft and destruction;
• Controls and prevents occurrence of unhealthy/insecurity crowds;
• Collects information, and reports on matters of security;
• Prevents and detects of crimes;
• Reports of intruders into the mine site
• Performs any other duties as might be assigned by the immediate superior

Minimum Qualifications

• Form four level of education with a minimum of one years’ experience in the relevant field;

Position: Process Plant Operators (02) Post  

Work Station: Biharamulo Mine Site
Contract Duration:  One year, subject to renewal 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates Gold Processing Circuit such as, crushing, grinding, carbon leach (CIL), elution, thickener and tailings circuit;
• Reports all operating problems and hazards to the Supervisor;
• Monitors and troubleshoot operating equipment;
• Identifies process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action;
• Performs preventive and routine maintenance;
• Performs calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift or as required;
• Mixes and adds treatment chemicals; install and replace chemical cylinder tanks; ensure adequate chemical application according to regulations and guidelines;
• Maintains plant in a reliable, tidy and safe manner, including minor maintenance such as fluid levels, cleaning lubrication and greasing, and advising repair and other major maintenance as it shall deem necessary;
• Repairs to fixed plant during breakdowns and shutdowns;
• Assists the crushing fixed plant team as required;
• Performs any other duties as might be assigned by the immediate superior.

Minimum Qualifications

Position: Electrician (01) Post  
Work Station:  Biharamulo Mine Site
Contract Duration:  One year, subject to renewal

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carries out electrical installation and routine checks;
• Repairs electrical faults and advices on areas for improvement in the mine;
• Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
• Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes;
• Prepares sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes;
• Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools;
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Position: Laboratory Supervisor (01) Post

Work Station:          Biharamulo Mine Site
Contract Duration:  One year, subject to renewal 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of the company;
• Ensures Metallurgical Laboratory KPIs are met, including provision of accurate and timely Plant monitoring data to Metallurgy and Operations, and quality

assurance and quality control on all Metallurgical Samples;

• Ensures the accuracy and maintenance of technical equipment, and errors are reported and rectified in a timely manner;
• Supervises and coordinates plant surveys, laboratory test work, analysis and reporting, as required;
• Analyses geological samples and provides its mineral contents;
• Ensures training KPIs are met through effective hands-on training of Metallurgical Technicians, to ensure employees gain new skills and achieve their maximum potential;
• Supports of staff to achieve objectives on-time and on-budget, and take appropriate action to rectify any substandard performance or behaviour;
• Provides ongoing technical input to the development and implementation of Process Plant operations, Geology and Mining strategies to support production objectives and optimise financial results for the company;
• Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in laboratory environments with at least 2 years in a leadership/ supervisory role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps safe custody of laboratory equipment and chemicals/reagents;
• Prepares and ensures laboratory chemical reagents, equipment, instruments and apparatus for mineral testing are in place as needed;
• Records all received samples from the mines in a sample log book;
• Prepares reagents and equipment needed for laboratory operations and sample analysis;
• Cleans and keeps the laboratory in neat and proper condition;
• Cleans laboratory equipment and apparatus after use;
• Arranges properly equipment, instruments and apparatus in the laboratory;
• Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

Position: Power House Operator (01) Post

Work Station: Biharamulo Mine Site

Contract Duration:  One year, subject to renewal 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and performs overhauling power station engines;
• Communicates with systems operators to regulate and coordinates transmission loads and frequencies, and line voltages;
• Examines and testes electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using testing devices;
• Inspects records and log book entries, and communicate with other plant personnel, in order to assess equipment operating status;
• Other duties in line with this job title as assigned by the Supervisor.
