At UWC East Africa our primary focus is to encourage and cultivate students’ desires to learn through questions and to think critically. Personal excellence is the goal for each student as they are inspired to achieve at the highest level in ways best suited to each individual.
We are seeking the following positions below for contracts to start on 1st August 2020:
Mathematics & Physics
- A mathematics and physics teacher who can teach both IB Diploma and MYP classes in these subjects. Previous experience of either the IB Diploma programme or the MYP would be a considerable advantage but is not required.
Mathematics
- A mathematics teacher who can teach both IB Diploma and MYP in this subject. Previous experience of either the IB Diploma programme or the MYP would be a considerable advantage but is not required.
Socio-Emotional / College Counsellor
- A counsellor for one of our campuses. Ideally the counsellor will have previous experience in both areas of socio-emotional counselling and of college counselling. Qualifications in at least one of these areas is expected.
English
- A teacher of English who can teach both IB Diploma and MYP in this subject. Previous experience of either the IB Diploma programme or the MYP would be a considerable advantage but is not required.
Biology
- A Biology teacher who can teach both IB Diploma and MYP in this subject. Previous experience of either the IB Diploma programme or the MYP would be a considerable advantage but is not required.
French
- A teacher of French who can teach both IB Diploma and MYP in this subject. Previous experience of either the IB Diploma programme or the MYP would be a considerable advantage but is not required.

Any applications for either Moshi or Arusha Campus should include a full CV/résumé and the names and addresses (including e-mail addresses) of two professional referees. It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty five years of age who have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience.
As a minimum requirement, all applicants for teaching positions must have a first degree and a teaching qualification that entitles them to teach in their home country. International teaching experience is also desired. All teachers of diploma level subjects are required to have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at a similar level, such as IB Diploma, AP, or Advanced Level experience
