Job Description
Overview of the Position.
Reporting to Country Director, the Country Human Resources and Operations Manager (COM) is a member of the SNV Tanzania senior management team and is responsible for providing strategic leadership function for the human resources and operations of the organisation. Directly managing a team of around seven HR and operations staff over five offices this role is responsible for managing all SNV’s operations within Tanzania, including human resource management, asset, fleet, IT and facility management as well as all legal and compliance issues for an organisation with a staff complement of over 80 staff and interns and an annual turnover of between $8-10 million. As a member of the Country Management Team (CMT) the COM also has an important role to play in the wider leadership and strategic direction of the organisation in Tanzania.
SNV is seeking an exceptional candidate for this role with a relevant Masters degree and who has at least 10 years experience in progressively senior positions playing a similar role in human resources, operations management of administration preferably in the INGO sector. The successful candidate will be a well organised, self-starter and able to work independently as well as the having the ability and judgement to respond rapidly to situations which require urgent attention. People skills and a high level of integrity are important with the holder of the position having a key role in helping set and maintain an organisational culture.

Key Requirements
· Master’s degree in human resources management, operations management, or related field, being a member of HR professional bodies (CIPD, SHRM. HBR and CEB) will be an added advantage
· Broad knowledge and experience in country’s employment laws, compensation, and employee relations. A legal qualification would be an added advantage
· 10 years’ experience in human resources management and administration
· Excellent written and spoken skills in Kiswahili and English
· Good skills in MS Office suite including Word and Excel
