Position: Medical Attendants (2 posts)
Duties
• Carry out general cleaning of the wards, Diagnostic
Departments, Treatment areas and its surrounding
• Transport patients in wheelchairs or on movable beds around the hospital
• Move medical equipment between wards, departments and theatre
• Maintain stocks of clean clothing and linen for patients
• Remove soiled clothing and linen items for cleaning to the laundry
• Assist with taking samples and collecting results from the laboratory
Assist in giving patient’s bed baths or helping up to the bathroom
• Assist with changing Chlorine water, soapy water and clean water in sluice room, for the disinfecting of instruments and keeping it tidy
• Adhering to infection control procedures
• Assisting with Health Education for patients when appropriate
• Complete data collection sheets as required
• Perform any other related duties as required by the
HoD/Supervisor
Qualifications
• Holder of two (2) years certificate in Nursing.

Position: Enrolled Nurse (3 posts)
Duties
• To provide quality, competent, clinical care that enhances the wellbeing of patients.
This will be achieved by:
Understands the enrolled nurse role and boundaries in relation to scopes of practice within the registered nurses delegation.
Demonstrating accountability and responsibility within the healthcare team when assisting or working under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Demonstrating competence and application of the following clinical skills such as wound care, preparation and assistance with minor surgery, collection of specimens, vital sign monitoring, teaching breast self examination, giving basic dietary advice and health promotion.
Undertaking the preliminary aspects of health assessments under the guidance of a registered nurse.
• To provide nursing care in accordance with appropriate professional and GSCH standards.

Position: Assistant Nursing Officer (2 posts)
Duties
• Observing and recording patients’ behaviour
• Coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals for creating and evaluating customized care plans.
• Diagnosing the disease by analysing patient’s symptoms and taking required actions for his/her recovery.
• Maintaining reports of patients’ medical histories, and monitoring changes in their condition.
Checking the stock on a regular basis for maintaining the inventory level, and placing orders if required.
• Changing patient’s medication in consultation with physician as indicated by their conditions and responses.
• Adhering with the protocols, norms, rules and regulations in order to maintain complete medical records.

Duties:
• Care of patients – giving correct diagnosis, recommending treatment and

• Provide medical consultation to other departments

Position: Nurse Anaesthetist (1 post)
Duties
• Completing physical assessments of each patient
• Discussing the surgery and recovery with the patient prior to the procedure
• Preparing and administering the patient-specific amount of anesthesia needed
for the procedure
• Maintaining the patient’s anesthesia levels during surgery
• Monitor the patient’s vital signs during a surgical procedure.
• Ensuring proper anesthesia recovery for patients until patients are
transferred to care units
• Be an excellent communicator with the medical team to minimize risk to the
patient during a surgical procedure.
• Maintain patient confidentiality while delivering the best quality of care

Position: General Surgeon (1 post)
Duties
• Take thorough history and physical examination
• Make diagnosis and determine the need and aim for surgery.
• Review patient medical history and plan the best treatment procedure
- Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with his/her surgery.
• Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease,
deformities and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical
protocols.
• Performing surgical procedures to remove tumors and send then for
pathological evaluation.
• Conduct pre and post operative ward rounds - Oversee all treatment prior to
and post-surgery, and identify associated risks.
• Coordinate follow up clinics after any surgical procedure.
• Schedule patients for multi – disciplinary tumors boards.
• Ensure sterility in the operating rooms for all equipment and instruments.
• Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of
patient rights.
• Manage surgical services, including planning, scheduling, coordination,
determination of procedures, and procurement of sup- plies and equipment.
• Conduct research to develop and test new surgical techniques in order to
improve quality in different (simple and complex) surgical procedures.

Duties
• Working with patients to explain a diagnostic and stages of cancer, discuss treatment options, and assist in managing the side effects and symptoms of cancer and its treatment.
• Leading a cancer treatment team of various healthcare pro-fessionals.
• Coordinating treatment plans and prescribing various types of treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Treating patients with radiation therapy.
• Assisting patients with pain management.
• Performing surgical operations to remove tumours and determine whether the cancer has spread from the original starting point.
• Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing cancer information to patients, and monitoring treat- ment plans.
• Carry out medical research

Qualifications
• A Medical graduate with Master of Medicine (MMed) in Clinical Oncology from an accredited university.
• Holder of Certificate of full registration as a medical practioner from Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT)

• Certificate of Registration with the Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals (MRIPC)
