Bukombe District is one of the five districts in Geita Region of Tanzania.[2] Its administrative centre is the town of Ushirombo. Prior to March 2012, it was one of the eight districts of the Shinyanga Region.
According to the 2012 census, the population of Bukombe District was 224,542.
The Regional Commissioner of the Iringa Region is Ally Hapi.

Geita Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The town of Geita is the capital. The regional commissioner of the Geita Region is Magalula Saidi Magalula. Geita Gold Mine is located within Geita Region, 4 km west of the town of Geita. The mine is currently being owned and managed by AngloGold Ashanti.
The region was created in March 2012 from portions of the Shinyanga, Mwanza, and Kagera regions.
