Assistant Project Manager Coordinator
The candidate will join the staff of CWM Tanzania – Catholic Workers Movement and CVM – Comunità volontari per il Mondo, in Morogoro.
A. CWM is the Lay Apostolic Movement based on the values of building a just, fraternal and sustainable society, with an emphasis on social security and adequate social protection. It is based in Morogoro and it has its branches in Songea, Mbinga, Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Bukoba and Rulenge-Ngara..

CVM was established in the year 1978 as a Catholic international volunteering organization, by a group of international volunteers, for the implementation of development projects in the Global South, contributing to the improvement and development of local communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively contribute to day-to-day project implementation and ensure conformity to expected results and project work-plans;
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in developing project plans and weekly activities;
  • Support in office tasks;
  • Assist CVM and CWM staff in monitoring project activities for DWs and any other tasks that local and international volunteers will need help with;
  • Complete assigned tasks, activities, projects in the time allocated. Promptly notify direct report of any delays.
  • Maintain project correspondence and communication;
  • Collect, register and maintain all information on project activities;
  • Advise all project counterparts on applicable administrative procedures and ensure their proper implementation;
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of progress reports;
  • Prepare agendas and arrange field visits, appointments and meetings both internal and external related to the project activities and write minutes from the meetings;
  • Maintain project archive;
  • Prepare routine correspondence and memoranda for Project Manager;
  • Maintain records on all project personnel/national consultants and their respective status (contracts, ToRs, time and attendance – if appropriate, etc.) in accordance with accepted policies and procedures;
  • Assist in logistical organization of meetings, training, workshops and recruitments;
  • Draft minutes of Project Board and other project related meetings;
  • Share knowledge and experience;
  • Actively work towards continuing personal learning, act on learning plan and apply newly acquired skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is required to obtain, evaluate and interpret factual data and to prepare accurate and complete reports and other documents;

Location of job post

Morogoro City – CWM Office Headquarter.


Requirements and Qualifications
  • Tanzanian National
  • BA Degree in Social and Economic Science, Gender studies, Development Studies or all other related fields
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous working experience in a field related to the position and/or in the no-profit sector
  • Mother tongue: Swahili, with excellent presentation and written skills
  • English – Advanced level, with excellent presentation and written skills
  • Effective communication and networking skills
  • High professionalism, consistent analytical skills, detail oriented and problem-solving;
  • Ability to work under pressure within fixed deadlines and with limited resources;
  • Ability to multitask, independent, well-organized, with strong initiative;
  • Strong sense of teamwork and teambuilding;
  • Ability to write appropriate formal correspondence, project reports, project notes, meeting agendas and meeting minutes;

IT skills

  • Proficient: Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient: use of online meeting platforms such as (but not limited to) Skype, Zoom, Google Meet
  • Proficient: Google Drive, Wetransfer, Google Calendar, email services

Remuneration
The remuneration will be commensurate with experience and will not exceed 700.000 tsh per month (basic salary).
