The Volunteer’s Role
This placement will support the efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of the AGAPE AIDS CONTROL PROGRAMME (AACP) in the area of monitoring and evaluation of projects. Effective monitoring and evaluation will allow AGAPE to ensure accountability, transparency as well as to be able to report well their progress on the implementation of strategic plans, programs, or smaller projects. As a Volunteer will utilize monitoring and evaluation expertise to follow up on the activities of Human Rights and Community Development being implemented by AGAPE.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will support the development of the M & E plan to accompany the implementation of AGAPE`s strategic plan. In that perspective, the advisor will identify gaps and share knowledge about good practices that could help to promote AGAPE`s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities within and outside the Organization. Furthermore, the advisor will provide support to the development of an annual M & E plan with corresponding tools to monitor and assess projects implementation progress.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Support AGAPE to develop the organization’s Monitoring and Evaluation framework
- Create a database for Monitoring and Evaluation activities for the organization
- Support the development of M & E plan to accompany the implementation of AGAPE`s strategic plan
Essential Requirements:
- University Degree in Economic Sociology or other relevant degrees
- Experience in developing a database
- Experience in monitoring and Evaluation
Essential Background:
- Ability to work in culturally different environments
- Excellent decision-making and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to assess, negotiate and resolve questions and problems promptly
- Ability to view issues/problems from the end user’s perspective
- Ability to manage end user’s expectations

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years (2020-2027). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
