Gabriella Children Rehabilitation centre (GCRC) is Non government organization located at Hai
district- Kilimanjaro region .our Vision is provision of excellent rehabilitation services for children
and youth with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders which affect their cognitive,
psychosocial and physical development. If you are a motivated and passionate individual who

Social Worker

Program:
Reports to: Head of rehabilitation department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Holder of diploma in social work, or any other related field .
  • 3 years of experience practicing as a primary in a recognized institution preferably rehabilitation institution.
  • Good counselling and listening skills.
  • Good and acceptable organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate nature with the ability to make patients feel at ease.
  • Acceptable management and leadership skills.
  • Team player

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • To help the patient and the family deal with the personal and social problems of illness,
    disability and impending death.
  • Helps in matters of dysfunctions in the family for instance in areas of financial difficulties or
    future planning.
  •  To make the client know her/ his problems for example after diagnosis it is the role of a
    social worker to make a patient accept the real situation.
  • To provide health education to the patient and family as whole especially the caregivers at
    the family level.
  • To provide social counselling wherever necessary for example where there arise issues of
    misunderstandings in the family, surrounding society etc.

To assist in developing innovative ideas for scaling up quality care and sustainability of the Programme.

  • To provide bereavement counselling.
  • To perform other related duties as assigned by the director of GCRC

  • Language: (Fluent) spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
  •  Qualities: dynamic team player able to work independently; excellent inter-personal skills.
  •  Ability to use Microsoft Office (including MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint) required.

Special Need Education teacher

Division: Education

Reports to: Head of education department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Special Education Teacher Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in special need education or teacher with specialization in special
    need education
  • Previous experience working with students with special needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of teaching practices for students with special needs.
  • Specialization in teaching children with cognitive challenges would be advantageous.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • Facilitating lessons in a manner that will be effective despite a student’s disability.
  • Providing support for students both academically and personally where necessary.
  • Respecting students and treating them with dignity in the learning environment.
  • Preparing lessons in advance with the needs of learners in mind.
  • Designing activities to achieve the learning goals of the students.
  • Creating lesson plans that meet academic standards for the student’s grade level and
    taking into account their interests, strengths, and challenges
  • Communicating with teachers, parents, therapists, and other professionals regarding
    student progress
  • Conducting evaluations to determine if the student is eligible for special education services
    or needs accommodations in school such an IEP
  • Implementing behavioral plans designed to reduce disruptive classroom behavior
  • Teaching students basic life skills such as grooming, meal preparation, and hygiene
  • Recording attendance, grades, and other information about students in school records
  • Creating an environment that encourage social interaction between children with varying
    abilities and skill levels
  • Training of teachers in regular school and supervising teachers practical training.
  • Be part of team in awareness campaign, outreach and home visit in the c community

ABA therapist

Program: Rehabilitation
Reports to: Head of rehabilitation
Location: HAI Kilimanjaro

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • We work primarily with children with Autism spectrum and other learning challenges, so any
    experience you have with autistic kids or adults is a major plus.
  • This job is a great opportunity
    to help children develop appropriate social behaviors and life skills.
  • Whether you are
    providing this support at the center, a school, or a child’s home, it is essential to display
    patience and empathy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field (preferred)
  • Certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Proven work experience as an ABA Therapist or similar role
  • Experience working with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
  • Expertise in working with children
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as an ABA Therapist

KEY DUTIES AND RESPOBILITIES;

  • Help implement treatment plans
  • Assist younger clients as they learn appropriate social behaviors and basic life skills
  • Provide home-based, school-based, and clinic-based support
  • Maintain detailed records of improvements or issues
  • Provide support or advice to the family members of our clients
  • Assist with administrative tasks as necessary
