Human Resources and Safeguarding Coordinator 

About the job

The HR and Safeguarding Coordinator is in charge of ensuring high quality, efficient and proactive HR Operations for Tanzania Country Office (CO). He/she works close with HR team and line managers to ensure, Recruitment, Learning and Development, and Performance management policies and guidelines are adequately implemented in the organisation. The role holder also contributes to strengthening of the organizational culture of passion for children’s rights, diversity, teamwork, staff recognition and wellbeing.

He/She is also responsible to provide guidance and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards. Pro-actively identifies and reduce overall safeguarding risks by working closely with SMT, ESMT, Program Managers and the field offices Focal Points (SFPs) to mainstream safeguarding across the country. He/she ensures that adequate procedures and practices are in place and reinforces awareness, prevention, reporting and investigation across all programs and locations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management, Organisational Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Sector Management or related discipline;

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Human Resource Management, with understanding of recruitment, performance management and overall HR operations;
  • Experience in safeguarding (Child/Employee/Adult) practices including understanding of PSEAH and anti-harassment policies and practices;
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver on a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;
  • Understanding of children issue in Tanzania, commitment to Children Rights and case management;
  • Ability to coach, mentor and provide developmental guidance to staff;
  • Good writing skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide support and advice as necessary;
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English and Kiswahili;
  • Willingness to travel to Save the Children’s field offices and operational areas on a regular basis;
