POSITION: STS Operator- Ports and Terminals
Job Function
Operates the Quay crane during the loading / discharging of containers from vessel
Key Performance Areas:
- Loading / discharging of containers from vessel/ trucks and vice versa
- Control the safety and discipline in the work area
- Follow the signals of Hatch man, vessel Tally clerk and Lasher
- Ensure safe movement and placing of containers or other cargoes, and transfer of staff and lashing gears
- Check /inspect any defect / damages and report them immediately to avoid further damage to the equipment
- Ensure that the boom is clear of any obstructions such as the ship’s Mast, ship’s Radar and Antenna when travelling the Quay crane
- Secure the cabin position in the back-reach before travelling to any desired direction, to have a wide view and check for any obstructions at the crane railways
- Report any vessel damage noticed to hatch man
- Do not move the crane until the vessel is completely secured
- When operations are finished completely, boom – up, shut off and anchor the crane
- Undertake routine cleaning of cabin and windows from inside
- Strictly follow the storm and bad weather procedures
- Contribute to achieving the company targets by following QHSE rules and regulations for operating and maintenance procedures related to job activities.
- Report and respond immediately as appropriate to any hazardous condition/act.
Qualifications Required:
- Above Intermediate Educational Degree
- Certified by Bandari College with relevant equipment
- Operating License from Bandari College
Experience and Skills Required:
- Work Experience in terminal operations minimum 2 years in the same role
- Fully Conversant with Safety Procedures
- Good communication skills
- Good English language both spoken and written
- Able to work with group.
- Able to adapt with the variable work conditions
- Able to work in shifts

POSITION: RTG Operator- Ports and Terminals
Job Function
Transfer the containers from truck to yard or vice versa, and updates container positions
Key Performance Areas:
- Load and unload containers according to instructions.
- Responsible for the safety and discipline in the work area.
- Follow move instructions and work area being dispatched from time to time.
- Consider container door direction when grounding in yard.
- Check /inspect any defect / damages to the equipment before start of work.
- Inspect the RTG and fill – in the checklist on weekly basis.
- Report and engine trouble or other defects during operations to avoid further damage.
- Initiate proper log-in and log-off on VMT and Terminal Operating System.
- Update all container movements in the system for grounding and shifting.
- Ensure containers are placed angle to angle
- Take special care on trucks with side panels.
- Ensure that the CT Supervisor or Foreman is present when cross or travelling the RTG.
- Ensure both runways are clear before travelling the RTG.
- Undertake routine cleaning of cabin and windows.
- Ensure safety and correct parking of RTG during bad weather or after operations.
- Strictly follow the storm and bad weather procedure.
- Hand-over all necessary information regarding the status of the equipment, VMT unit to the next shift operator.
- Contribute to achieving the company targets by following QHSE rules and regulations for operating and maintenance procedures related to job activities.
- Report & respond as appropriate to any hazardous condition/act immediately.
Qualifications Required:
- Above Intermediate Educational Degree

Job Function
Optimize the process flow of general Cargo/Bulk/IOP Terminal and other goods between land and sea transport
Key Performance Areas:
- Lead, motivate and activate constantly personnel under his supervision
- Exchange information briefly
- Participate in vessel’s berthing schedule and yard planning.
- Set priorities in sequenced work by calamities and take decisions to stop and restart operations taking in consideration all safety norms
- Lead the ship and related terminal operations (Cargo stowage – Cargo delivery, horizontal transport etc.)
- Take regular rounds in yard to monitor the operations.
- Bear out and propagate terminal policy and gives form to it.
- Ensure that all safety regulations are duly applied for all equipment.
- Ensure all relevant data for cargo quantity moving through the gate is properly recorded
- Supervise the handling of heavy lift or oversize cargoes in the container terminal
- Maximize the usage of yard equipment to achieve maximum productivity in both vessel and land side operation.
- Coordinate landside points of work when there is ship in working operations.
- Monitor and analyse the qualitative and quantitative values of productivity norms
- Monitor the quality of work of personnel employed as well as the cost aspects thereof
- Plan and maintain personnel availability
- Presence justification of personnel
- Organize the equipment needs for the operations in consultation with the technical department
- Draft, write, observe, and adapt the procedures
- Identify stages in a typical performance management cycle including setting smart goals and the processes for monitoring performance effectively and providing constructive feedback.
- Manage and improve the individual team and divisional performance to achieve organizational goals and strategies
- Participate in managing labours supply to meet operational needs
- Evaluate the employee under his supervision and develop their skills
- Ensure safe position of cranes during berthing, sailing and extreme weather conditions
- Ensure vessel position in wharf is according to the berth plan
- Ensure all items in vessel inspection checklist before vessel starting.
- Administrate vessel operations as per crane work program to ensure set production targets are met
- Serve the clients to meet their satisfaction
- Ensure All External trucks are serviced to the minimum time.
- Ensure Trucks are positioned properly in yard
- Responsible to acquire and distribute all the documents to be used for discharge and load operations
- Administrate optimal allocation of available resources to achieve set production targets
- Supervise on board and on wharf vessel operations including lashing
- Ensure confirmation to work procedures
- Liaise with Shift in Charge for any problems encountered or changes required to crane program during loading and discharge.
- Ensure safe handling of Cargos
- Give instructions to Forman about work plan
- Ensure that all cargo holds cleaned and sign on from chief officer after completion.
- Generate and sign off accident and damage reports and report it to Superintendent.
- Monitor and record BGC activities during the shift and transmit to Superintendent.
- Monitor and record vessel productivity and delays
- Adhere strictly to all work procedures. (SOP)
- Handle any other task as allocated by GC & Bulk Superintendent
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor Educational Degree
- Rigging and lifting certificate Preferer
Experience and Skills Required:
- Work Experience in minimum 4 years and preferable 6 years in the terminal
- Fully Conversant with Safety Procedures
