The company has been operating for 8 years. It is looking for a candidate that has a keen eye to detail strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of business and accounting principles. The company is located in Mafinga, Tanzania and the project post is for a full-time position on site.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Heavy Vehicle Engineer to support our plant operations and contribute to our continued growth. The role involves ensuring the functionality, efficiency, and safety of company vehicles and systems, as well as implementing improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Design and Development: Develop, design, and optimize heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, chassis, and electrical systems.
Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and testing of vehicles to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty vehicles, and provide effective solutions.
Project Management: Manage engineering projects, from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, testing protocols, and maintenance procedures.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all vehicle designs and modifications comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and sales, to support product development and customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Certification as a Professional Engineer is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team, and good communication skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of vehicle dynamics and systems
