Organization 

Silverleaf Academy is a chain of affordable private pre-primary and primary schools in Tanzania educating children aged 2-14. Our mission is to provide lower-middle-income families in Tanzania with highest quality learning at the most affordable levels. Using the national Tanzanian curriculum, Silverleaf schools deploy an inclusive, tech-supported curriculum inside every classroom, and adopt an innovative team-teaching approach and in-service training program. Our schools are specifically designed to build both student academic competencies and wider life, leadership and learning skills. It is our promise to our students and their parents that Silverleaf students will not leave school without full mastery of the basic skills of writing, reading and math, while also being prepared for a world where critical thinking, team collaboration, and entrepreneurship are paramount. Silverleaf currently has one fully operational campus in Usa River serving approximately 400 pre-primary to standard 7 students. By January 2025, the target is to grow the Usa River campus to over 1,000 daycare up to standard 7 students. 

 

Role

The main purpose of the Marketing and Enrollment Associate Manager role is to build the Silverleaf brand and to drive viability of the Usa River campus through sophisticated marketing strategy and approaches. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the school has robust systems for communicating the value proposition of Silverleaf Academy to all stakeholders, driving enrollment at the Usa River campus, and managing parent experiences though the school.

 

KPIs

  1. Enrollment – Total enrolment across all sites as absolute number of students vs target
  2. New Parent Leads – Monthly active leads added to the database vs target per month
  3. Social Media Following – Monthly social media following and/or engagement across 3 channels vs target
  4. Social Media Output- Monthly total volume of posts across 3 channels vs target

 

Responsibilities

  1. Researching and integrating best practice approaches towards marketing, communications and customer relationship management in the Tanzanian context
  2. Undertaking continuing market research in the Tanzanian private education sector to understand where to position Silverleaf in the ecosystem 
  3. Developing strategies, approaches and tools for efficient and effective marketing and communications campaigns to include website development, SEO and social media
  4. Integrating systems, platforms and tools for effective customer relationship management and real time insight gathering from data
  5. Engaging and coordinating partnerships with world leading experts in marketing, communication and digital systems to incorporate international best practice
  6. Creating and training staff within the organization on marketing and digital tools and content
  7. Supporting the school management team(s) through expert advice and guidance in marketing, communications and digital integration
  8. Leading on data management systems projects such as school information management systems and customer relationship management systems. 
  9. Defining organizational approaches towards data management, analysis and compliance through tools, policies and procedures.
  10. Codifying and documenting best practice to contribute to “The Silverleaf Standard” for roll out to multiple schools

 

Skills and Attributes

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in managing or coordinating marketing and communications activities within a Tanzanian context
  • Experience in building national marketing and communications campaigns
  • Experience in developing, integrating and maintaining digital systems, platforms and tools  
  • Excellent digital literacy and ability to derive and communicate insights from data
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Desire to learn, innovate and build robust and impactful systems and processes  
  • Comfortable with using initiative and meeting targets in a fast-paced environment 
  • Passion for generating exceptional outcomes for young people in Tanzania
