Development of an HIV Negative Registration Cohort for Future Participation in an HIV Vaccine (Known as PrEPVacc) Study is seeking to hire staff to work with the project. This is a prospective, longitudinal observational study aimed to recruit and estimate HIV incidence in a
cohort of HIV-negative volunteers at risk of HIV infection and to prepare them for participation in the PrEPVacc HIV vaccine trial. The following are job vacancies for the PrEPVacc study: –
- POSITION: MEDICAL OFFICER / ASSISTANT MEDICAL OFFICER (1 POST)
Holder of Doctor of Medicine from a recognized University/Institution, plus
successful completion of a one year internship and must be registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika. A minimum of 3 years of work experience is required. Applications from Holders of Assistant Medical Officer’s Diploma and a public health background (MPH) with a minimum of 3 years of work experience are also accepted. Applicant must be registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
- Consenting process that includes providing briefing sessions and obtaining informed consent
- Assist with screening, evaluation and management of study participants
- Fills and checks source documents and CRFs
- Participate in the community outreach activities
- Prepare meeting minutes and reports for the study
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- POSITION: NURSING OFFICER /ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER (2 POSTS)
Holder of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized
Institution/University plus successful completion of a one-year internship.
Applicant must be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council. A minimum of 3 years of working experience in clinical trials is required. Applications from Holders of Diploma in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in clinical
trials are also accepted. Applicant must be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
- Consenting process that includes briefing session and obtaining informed consent.
- Providing pre and post test counseling for HIV
- Providing and advising on family planning
- Able to perform phlebotomy
- Participate in the community outreach
- Administer study investigational products
- Performing and interpreting HIV testing
- Completing of source documentation and transcribing in CRFs
- Query resolution
- Vaccine administration
- Participant tracing and follow up
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- POSITION: DATA MANAGER II (1 POST)
Holder of Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or
Health Informatics from any recognized Institution/University with extensive knowledge in relational databases RDBMS, SPSS, STATA, Excel etc. A minimum of 3 years working experience in the relevant field is required.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
- Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
- Implement rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
- Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards
- Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
- Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
- Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
- Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting officer.
