Yapı Merkezi Construction and Industry Inc is looking for “HSES Manager", who will be employed at our Railway Project in Tanzania;
General Qualifications ;
Engineering Degree in Construction, Health and Safety and/or Environmental Sciences.
Preferably minimum 10 years of related work experience in international context.
Significant experience in Health, Safety, Environmental and Social Management in accordance with international standards is essential.
Good knowledge on Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment processes.
Good knowledge on ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Experience of stakeholder engagement management is required.
Leadership experience.
Ability to influence, inspire confidence and build trust at all levels internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to apply an integrated approach to health, safety, environmental and social risk management.
Proven ability to develop to manage complex matters in a transparent and inclusive fashion.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Strong MS Office skills.
Job Description ;
- Ensures all activities are carried out to the highest HSES performance standards by providing clear leadership.
- Builds HSES management system and provides HSES leadership support to all levels of the project and across all functional groups to ensure compliance.
- Drives continues improvement in HSES performance, systems, policies, procedures, and culture.
- Ensures all HSES processes and procedures are implemented and standardized across SGR Lot 2 facilities.
- Tracks the project’s HSES metrics and use the data to identify and to reduce risk.
- Manages and monitors sub-contractors and service companies’ HSES performance.
- Ensures continuous HSES performance improvement through regular reviews, inspections, and audits and procedure, and policy updates.
- Implements Environmental and Social Action Plan and works closely with the Lender Compliance Manager on reporting to Lenders on HSES performance.
- Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations.
- Ensures compliance with country specific incident management procedures, campaign specific bridging documentation, emergency response procedures and incident notification/investigation procedures.
- Leads all aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause, approving, and monitoring the implementation of preventative actions.
- Ensures all Local permits in current and valid condition.
- Ensures regulatory agency submissions including but not limited to OSHA Logs/reports.
- Maintains current working knowledge of all applicable HSES regulations and ensures revisions are made to plans/procedures to comply with new requirements.
- Develops and leads HSES training strategy for all HSES matters.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
