Job Title: PHARMACEUTICAL STOREKEEPER (2 POSITIONS

Job Summary
Responsible for providing technical supervision related to the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines in all regional health facilities.

Job Description
Reports to Direct: Medical Officer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In close collaboration with Store Officer, responsible for monitoring inventory and stock levels in Unit 4 ERP system to ensure appropriate stock levels, anticipate stock outs and advise on actions to be taken; support Procurement team in planning and issuing of requisitions to avoid stock out of medicines
  • Support in preparing requisitions for orders of medical and drug material to ensure an efficient and appropriate consumption pattern under budget constraints
  • In close collaboration with the Store Officer, ensure adherence to MTI and donor policies and procedures on storage, stock management and supply such that proper medicine storage conditions are maintained, including pest control, temperature, humidity and light exposure
  • Train Store personnel on drug families, usage and recommendations for storage, especially with regards to cold chain items and controlled drugs
  • Monitor prescriptions to ensure that correct medications are being prescribed, adherence to clinical guidelines and the rational use of medicines; conduct related trainings for clinical staff
  • Check prescription logs at Health Facility and ensure that complete documentation of transfer of
  • drugs from Health Facility store is available
  • Analyse monthly stock report in close collaboration with Medical Coordinator and Store Officer to ensure all essential medicines are available and to verify over or under usage of specific medicines each month; collaborate with Pharmacy Technicians from other locations on transfer of medicines to avoid stock outs and reduce overstocks
  • Produce monthly stock out report and share information with Health Facilities including recommendations for alternatives
  • Assure respect of order cycles on Health Facility level
  • Generate average monthly consumption and regularly review with Medical Coordinator
  • Issue donations of overstock drugs as advised by Medical Coordinator
  • Ensure that medical practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and MTI Code of Conduct
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Diploma in pharmaceutical science is required
  • Registration Pharmacy Council Tanzania
  • Valid practicing license is required

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a community or hospital pharmacy
  • Experience working with international NGOs is an added advantage

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE
  • In-depth technical knowledge of pharmacy including purchasing, dispensing and aseptic manipulations
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures, including safe and secure handling of medicine
  • Knowledge of computerized pharmacy systems or ERP systems

SKILLS
  • Skilled in aseptic dispensing
  • Skilled in managing stock levels and forecasting needs to avoid stock outs whenever possible
  • Skilled in using appropriate database systems (ERP, HIS, HRIS)
  • Skilled in developing and conducting trainings for health facility staff
  • Skilled in record keeping with high attention to detail

ABILITIES

Job Title: REPRODUCTIVE CHILD HEALTH COORDINATORS (4 POSITIONS)

Job Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing reproductive and child health interventions at refugee camp including antenatal care (ANC), post-natal care (PNC), family planning (FP), under-fives children growth monitoring, expanded program of immunization (EPI) and providing oversight to community health interventions.

Job Description
Reports to Direct: Medical Coordinator
Supervises Direct: CHS Supervisor, HIT

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the development and implementation of all project activities in the settlement related to: HIV/AIDS, TB, MCHN, immunization, family planning and SGBV
  • Provide technical support to TB Focal Persons, EPI Focal Persons, Midwives and Counselors by referring for training opportunities and providing continuous mentorship
  • Responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of the ART clinics and maintaining a high standard of care in line with MTI and donor guidelines
  • Conduct home visits, assess client needs and provide HIV counselling to escalated cases as needed
  • Participate in SGBV response and prevention and ensure delivery of quality clinical management of survivors of rape
  • Responsible ensuring program quality by monitoring progress in achieving project objectives, suggesting realignment of activities and project scope as required, providing assessment of project needs in terms of staff, consultants and materials
  • Give input to the regional budget process, monitor compliance with donor regulations, monitor budget expenditure in Unit 4 ERP system and inform Medical Coordinator of budgetary challenges as they arise
  • Ensure that medical and counselling practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and MTI Code of Conduct
  • Analyse data compiled from field staff, prepare and submit reports as per schedule to supervisor
  • Represent MTI in meetings related to HIV/AIDS, TB and reproductive health and coordinate with MoH and other partners in delivery of services throughout the settlement

  • Strong clinical background is required
  • Experience working with INGOs is an added advantage
