The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is an NGO.
ASM works in collaboration with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children (MOHCDGEC), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Global Health Protection (CDC-DGHP), and Fleming Fund to deliver technical assistance to help improve antimicrobial resistance (AMR) diagnostic and integrate a quality management systems approach into laboratory practices.

ASM currently supports the National Reference laboratory (NHLQATC), 4 Zonal hospital laboratories and 10 Regional hospital laboratories across the country.
