Job Purpose:
To provide comprehensive support and advice on employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HR policy implementation, ensuring effective management and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations:
- Assisting HR & legal manager in advising and supporting all parts of the business on employee relations matters, ensuring effective management of Union and CBA negotiations, disciplinary and grievance matters, CMA and Court Cases.
- Keep updated with current employee relations legislation and ensure this is updated in the Human Resource policies.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Provide advice and assistance to staff and management on pay and benefits systems.
- Ensure timely appraisal of all staff at the completion of probation, extension of probation, and during the annual appraisals.
- Preparation of the performance appraisal analysis report.
- Compliance:
- Deal with Compliance issues, including OSHA, NEMC, SUMMATRA, etc.
- Ensure that all HR policies comply with current legislation.
- Policy Implementation:
- Explain the provisions of all approved HR policies and how they apply to employees.
- Ensure employee IDs for all staff are provided in time.
- Ensure that all employees are taken through onboarding formalities on joining.
- Performance Management:
- Provide basic counselling to staff that have performance obstacles.
- Coordinate regular meetings with allocated line managers and provide HR-related support to their respective Divisions on workplace issues.
- Job Descriptions:
- Develop job descriptions for all staff and ensure that they are filed and placed in the appropriate locations.
- Regularly update job descriptions to reflect any changes in responsibilities.
- Training and Development:
- Assist in identifying training needs and developing training programs.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports and documentation as required.
- Support the HR Manager in various HR projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of [1] years of experience in an HR role, preferably with experience in employee relations and compliance.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
